Close a hauling job with a clear completion record

A completion handoff should tell the customer and coordinating party what was done, what remains, and whether any question is still open. Compare the result with the approved scope and record changes. Keep hauling completion separate from payment status, disposal certification, and work performed by other trades or service companies.

Current service: Portland–Vancouver through JunkPDX. Seattle and Boise booking is closed. Check market status.

Compare the result with the approved scope

Before leaving, review the agreed areas or item list and identify whether the accepted work is complete. Check customer-approved changes made during the visit so the final record reflects the actual scope rather than the original request alone. If the customer or authorized representative is available, use that review to catch simple misunderstandings while the crew is still present.

Avoid broad statements such as property fully cleared when important exclusions remain. A defined garage area may be complete even though family keeps occupy a separate corner. Describe the boundary accurately. Completion should mean the accepted work was performed, not that every visible object was removed or that the property now satisfies another party’s unrelated expectations.

Explain all material left behind

Distinguish customer holds, excluded material, and an unfinished part of the accepted scope. These have different next steps. A box deliberately retained by the customer does not need the same follow-up as an item the crew could not handle within the reviewed plan. State the reason and identify who is responsible for deciding what happens next.

If a specialist concern or changed condition stopped part of the work, document the observation plainly without diagnosing beyond the provider’s role. For example, record that an unknown container was excluded pending review rather than asserting its contents were safe or hazardous without a basis. The responsible parties can then arrange an appropriate assessment or separate service.

Share useful evidence through the agreed process

Provide permitted photos and a concise written summary that matches the completed work. Avoid images of private records, unrelated residents, or spaces outside the request. Confirm who should receive the update, particularly when a partner arranged the introduction but the customer controls the property. A referral does not give every participant permission to receive the full job record.

If actual disposal or receiving documentation is part of the agreed arrangement, pass along the available record accurately. Do not invent destination evidence or substitute a loaded-truck photo for a receiving record. Likewise, an empty room does not certify sanitation, remediation clearance, secure document destruction, or repairs performed by another contractor.

Separate completion from administrative status

The physical work can be finished while an administrative question remains open. Follow the agreed process for invoices, payment questions, customer concerns, and internal status updates rather than assuming a specific portal or automated payout. Do not mark a payment complete without evidence, and do not tell the customer that every matter is closed if a documented exception still needs a response.

PNWJunkRemoval is operated by Solely Junk LLC, with active Portland–Vancouver service through JunkPDX. Seattle is recruiting and Boise is developing, with no confirmed network jobs there. Provider applications are reviewed without approval or job guarantees. Completion practices must be agreed before activation and should reflect the actual operational tools and responsibilities in use.

KEEP THIS WITH YOUR PROJECT NOTES

Before you take the next step

  1. Compare the finished result with the approved scope and changes.
  2. Label each remaining item as a hold, exclusion, or unfinished work.
  3. State the reason for exceptions and the next responsible contact.
  4. Share only authorized photos and documentation the process actually produced.
  5. Keep work completion, payment status, and follow-up questions distinct.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Details worth settling early

Can a job be complete when some items remain?

Yes, if those items were outside the approved scope or deliberately retained by the authorized customer. State the boundary and reason clearly. Do not use completion language to conceal an unfinished portion of the accepted work.

Does a completion update confirm that payment has cleared?

No. Work status and payment status are separate facts. Follow the actual administrative process and report only what is supported. This guide does not establish automatic collection, provider payout, or a particular customer payment workflow.

What should be sent to a referring partner?

Only the update the customer has authorized and the partner needs for its role. A concise completion or exception note may be sufficient. Do not automatically send private interior photos, payment details, or the full customer record.
