Confirm ownership in shared work areas
Walk the salon station by station and identify business-owned furniture, rented equipment, and items belonging to booth renters or suite tenants. Obtain release decisions from the appropriate owner. A station that looks unused may still contain professional tools, client records, product inventory, or furniture that another party plans to collect.
For a planning example, a reception refresh might release a sofa, loose tables, and a display cabinet while leaving workstations and shampoo areas untouched. Write that boundary into the inventory. Shared ownership and similar-looking stations make clear labels particularly useful when new furniture arrives before the outgoing pieces have left.
Separate loose furnishings from connected fixtures
Photograph chairs, mirrors, cabinets, and stations from enough angles to show attachments. Note whether mirrors are wall-mounted, cabinets are fixed, and chairs have powered or hydraulic components. Do not assume that a furniture request includes detaching heavy glass, removing fixed cabinetry, or modifying connections to the building.
Shampoo bowls, sinks, plumbed chairs, wired stations, and related equipment may need qualified trade work before hauling can be considered. Describe the prepared condition after that work is completed. Ordinary hauling is not a substitute for safe disconnection, plumbing closure, electrical work, or assessment of a fixture whose construction or condition is uncertain.
Remove products and sensitive contents first
Have salon staff empty drawers, cabinets, trolleys, and storage compartments. Keep tools, client information, cash, and personal belongings out of the pickup area. Sort product stock separately and identify ownership; a cabinet approved for removal does not automatically authorize disposal of the products or records inside it.
Dyes, solvents, aerosols, disinfectants, batteries, sharps, liquids, and unidentified containers do not belong in a mixed ordinary-furniture pile. Resolve those materials through the appropriate independent process. If furniture has contamination, leaks, or damage that affects handling, disclose it before review rather than relying on a general photograph of the salon.
Coordinate access with appointments and restoration
Explain the route from each approved station or storage area to the permitted loading location, including stairs, narrow storefront doors, and shared corridors. Keep required exits open and avoid overlapping removal traffic with clients. Any after-hours request needs confirmation of both pickup availability and the person who can provide access.
Volume, weight, labor, and access inform pricing, with final onsite approval before loading. PNW currently checks Portland–Vancouver requests through JunkPDX; Seattle and Boise are not open. Track hauling separately from installation, wall repair, plumbing, cleaning, or lease restoration so the final record does not imply that those tasks were included.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Details worth settling early
Can shampoo stations be included?
They require separate review of plumbing, attachment, weight, and condition. Arrange appropriately qualified disconnection where needed and obtain specific acceptance of the resulting hauling scope before relying on pickup.
Can glass mirrors go with salon cabinets?
Describe size, condition, mounting, and preparation in advance. Wall removal and handling of large or damaged glass are not automatic parts of a cabinet request and may require another provider.
Does furniture removal include cleaning the empty suite?
No cleaning or restoration service should be assumed. Define any required cleaning, repairs, and trade work separately, and confirm those arrangements with the appropriate provider or property representative.
