Choose the collection location deliberately
An indoor collection point and an exposed outdoor pile present different planning needs. Tell the reviewer where the items currently are and where you propose to leave them for the visit. Do not move a dry interior inventory outside merely because you assume that is required for pickup.
If outside staging is already part of the reviewed plan, describe any cover or space constraints without assuming a particular solution will work. Keep access to shared areas and public routes in mind. The appointment itself does not authorize storing material wherever weather protection happens to be available.
Update the description when material changes
Rain exposure can change the condition of material and the information a reviewer needs. Tell the booking contact if boxes have deteriorated, contents are no longer clearly contained, or the pile differs from the photos. An older image should not stand in for a materially changed collection area.
For illustration, a photographed group of dry cardboard boxes under cover is a different description from an open mixed pile after the cover is removed. Do not guess how the change affects price or handling. Explain what changed and request a review of the actual conditions.
Review access as well as the forecast
Describe known changes to the proposed route, such as an unavailable exterior entrance or a loading area that the property no longer permits using. The important booking information is the resulting access condition. Avoid promising that a route is suitable based solely on how it looked during dry weather.
Arrange with the property contact any entry, elevator, or loading changes caused by the day’s conditions. If a different collection point is proposed, make the carrying distance and room locations clear. Volume, weight, labor, and access remain part of the final onsite assessment.
Confirm the plan without assuming the outcome
Ask the booking contact about the confirmed visit if conditions materially affect access or readiness. Do not assume rain automatically cancels the appointment, and do not assume every request can proceed unchanged. A useful update states the address, appointment details, and specific issue that needs review.
PNW coordinates reviewed Portland–Vancouver requests through JunkPDX and checks ZIP, address, and scope. Keep an authorized contact available during the arrival window and allow time beyond arrival for the work. The final accepted scope and amount must still be approved onsite before loading.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Details worth settling early
Should I leave furniture outside before a rainy visit?
Confirm the collection arrangement first. Explain where the furniture is now and whether you can keep it there until the visit; outside staging should not be assumed necessary.
Will rain automatically cancel my appointment?
Do not assume either cancellation or unchanged service. Contact the booking representative if conditions affect access, readiness, or the scope and confirm how the request will be handled.
What if the pile no longer matches my photos?
Send updated pictures and a description before the visit when possible. The onsite review and final amount need to reflect the actual material and collection conditions.
