Resolve ownership before setting the removal boundary
Start with operator-owned furniture and compare it with member agreements and move-in records. Label rented offices, dedicated desks, storage lockers, and shared cabinets separately. An empty room does not automatically make its contents disposable; members may have different end dates, and another business may own a chair that resembles the operator’s inventory.
Create a written release list for each affected space and use the operator’s established process for property that has not been collected. This guide does not determine abandonment rights. Keep disputed or unconfirmed property outside the hauling scope until the appropriate responsible party supplies a clear, documented decision about the item.
Distinguish shared equipment from ordinary furniture
Inventory approved desks, loose tables, seating, and empty storage units by zone. Check beneath tables for attached power equipment, screens, docking stations, and access devices. Route confidential papers and data-bearing electronics to the operator’s chosen process; ordinary hauling does not establish certified destruction or permission to discard member information.
For a planning example, a lounge refresh may replace sofas while retaining phone booths and meeting-room displays. Identify those retained assets directly on the area plan. Fixed pods, connected appliances, partitions, or wired workstations introduce additional handling and trade questions that require specific review before they become part of a pickup request.
Plan movement around occupied workspaces
Describe the active areas, member access hours, meeting bookings, and route to vehicle access. Agree internally on a temporary furniture holding area that preserves exits and access to occupied rooms. Keep approved outgoing material distinct from member deliveries and recently installed replacements, especially in shared reception and mailroom spaces.
Tell members which areas may be affected through the operator’s normal communication process. A pickup window is not a promise that a specific meeting room remains quiet. Discuss elevator reservations, security admission, and permitted loading hours with building management, then request a removal arrangement that fits those confirmed constraints.
Use one operator representative for final decisions
Assign a community manager or operations lead to compare the onsite material with the release list. Members should not independently add items to the pile during the visit. Pause for explicit approval when a new room or unexpected storage unit appears, because quantities, weight, labor, and access can change the final price.
Final pricing requires onsite approval before loading. PNWJunkRemoval is operated by Solely Junk LLC and currently reviews Portland–Vancouver requests through JunkPDX; Seattle and Boise are not open. Confirm the address, material, and access details before relying on a pickup, and record completion by room or shared-area zone.
KEEP THIS WITH YOUR PROJECT NOTES
Before you take the next step
- Reconcile operator furniture against member agreements and move-in records.
- Keep disputed property outside the approved removal area until resolved.
- Check shared tables for attached electronics, power equipment, and documents.
- Identify active meeting rooms and protected routes to occupied offices.
- Authorize one operator representative to approve onsite scope changes.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Details worth settling early
Can members add their own unwanted furniture?
Only through an agreed approval process before loading. The operator should confirm ownership, suitability, quantity, and billing responsibility; a common pickup does not automatically include every member’s property.
What happens to unclaimed locker contents?
Keep them separate and follow the operator’s applicable property-handling process. Hauling authorization should come after the ownership and disposition question is resolved, not be used to decide it.
Can a cleanout be limited to one shared area?
Yes, a request can describe a limited area such as a lounge, subject to review. Use clear boundaries and labels so occupied offices and retained furniture cannot be mistaken for included material.
