Prepare an Appliance Removal Request for Review

An appliance request should identify the unit, its current location, utility connection status, contents, and access route. Utility disconnection must be handled by a qualified person through an appropriate separate arrangement; do not assume ordinary hauling includes it. Have the appliance and preparation needs reviewed before booking, then approve the accepted onsite scope and price before loading.

Identify each appliance separately

List the appliance type and model information if available, along with known dimensions. Describe whether it is freestanding, built in, stacked, or otherwise part of a larger installation. A short label such as “kitchen appliances” leaves important questions unresolved when the units need different preparation or access.

Tell the reviewer whether the appliance is empty and what remains inside. Do not present planned preparation as already completed. If you are waiting for another provider to remove contents or disconnect the unit, identify that dependency so the proposed hauling date reflects the real readiness of the appliance.

Arrange qualified disconnection independently

Utility connections and appliance-specific preparation require an appropriate qualified person. This guide does not provide disconnection steps, and a hauling request does not establish that electrical, gas, plumbing, or other specialist work is included. Ask the relevant provider what preparation they must complete for your particular unit.

Coordinate the sequence so the hauling reviewer knows when that separate work will be finished. If disconnection or preparation is delayed, tell the booking contact before the visit. The appliance should not be described as ready for ordinary removal while a necessary specialist task remains unresolved.

Describe the route and property constraints

Identify the appliance’s floor, surrounding space, doorways, stairs, elevator arrangements, and route to loading access. Share photos from accessible positions. Do not move the unit to test clearance or assume that its delivery route is still usable under the property’s current conditions.

For illustration, a freestanding appliance in a ground-level garage and a built-in unit behind a narrow kitchen opening require different reviews. The appliance name alone does not establish the work. Disclose cabinetry, attachments, or other preparation questions rather than assuming they are included with hauling.

Confirm acceptance and the final scope

Appliances can have material or handling considerations that require specific acceptance review. Identify the actual unit instead of assuming every appliance can be treated like ordinary furniture. Do not attempt to process, dismantle, or handle appliance components as a way to make the request fit a general pickup description.

PNW currently coordinates reviewed Portland–Vancouver requests through JunkPDX, checking ZIP, address, and scope. Ordinary hauling excludes regulated or specialist work. At the visit, show the prepared appliance and actual route, clarify any changes, and approve the final amount based on accepted volume, weight, labor, and access before loading.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Details worth settling early

Will the hauling crew disconnect my appliance?

Do not assume that. Utility disconnection requires an appropriate qualified person and a separate confirmed arrangement. Describe the connection status before the hauling visit is reviewed.

Can I request removal while preparation is pending?

Explain the pending work and expected readiness so the request can be reviewed accurately. Do not describe the appliance as ready until the necessary separate preparation is complete.

Should I dismantle an appliance to make it easier to remove?

Do not improvise appliance preparation. Provide the item details and seek the appropriate qualified review. Ordinary hauling does not include appliance processing or specialist disassembly by assumption.
